How do the paintball guns that look like real guns compare to other smaller guns?

I am going to but a marker and I was looking at the Alpha Black, which looks really cool, but it is supposevly heavy. But then I see all the harecore paintballers with the smaller framed guns. Do they have more power and ranger?
Also, velocity. Do they usually have more?
well these guys are both pretty right. its a good gun for woods, those smaller guns are a waste of paint, and good at what they are for. airball… small fields, lots of paint and short time. i wouldent get one of them unless you plan on being on a team. the range can be changed on any gun with modifications. like the flatline to a tippman 98. the velocity … it doesnt really matter how much you have, once you hit a certain point, most fields only allow 280 fps anyway. dont worry about the velocity you wont want it turned all the way up anyway, other wise balls go crazy and not even close to straight.
my recomendation, is the tippman 98, you can turn it into a alpha black look alike, it is also a VERY good gun out of the box, great for beginiers and experts alike, modifications are relativly cheap, and its not a heavy gun. It is a basic gun that you will come across a lot. but can be turned into anything from a sniper to a heavy duty machine gun. with a little more money it can be close to as fast as some speed ball guns… which is a waist of paint and air anyway. it is a awesome gun for the price, and it compares way up their to a lot of guns out there…. spiders are the other name you will hear a lot, i had one and was not happy with it, but i know others have them and are very happy. they finally came out with the anti chop system. (the new tippman 98 has it too, not that they chop anywhere near the amount that a spider does.)
well when u see ppl with smaller and lighter guns they mostly play speedball, xball and all that stuff and range and power is all different on how the gun is tuned

If you want to play pantball in the woods (woodsball) the alpha black is a good gun to get. When you see the hardcore players with there smaller guns they probuly play speed all.
